According to the rule of law established at Nuremburg, a 'war of aggression' is
the most serious international crime because it is the crime from which all other war
crimes follow.
Were the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq wars of aggression?
Apparently not! Bush and Cheney decreed that U.S. forces need not comply with the Geneva Conventions or other international laws governing war
crimes.
As Lord Acton once said, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts
absolutely." Bush and Cheney convinced Americans that they could commit war
crimes because their power enabled them to override the rule of law.
More than
a million innocent men, women and children have been slaughtered in the
so-called "war on terror". Yet the mainstream media and the Obama administration refuse to
hold U.S. officials accountable for crimes against humanity.
